A Legacy of Innovation
Dan T Moore Company is the parent holding company of a diverse portfolio of twelve companies that were founded by Dan Moore and share a creative entrepreneurial spirit. Companies in the portfolio range from manufacturing and distribution to real estate renovation, marina operations and government contracting. Operations and corporate management are centralized in Cleveland, Ohio, with sales to a global customer base. Combined revenues in 2007 topped 110 million, and operating profits exceeded 21 million.
At December 31, 2007, the portfolio of companies included the following:
Flow Polymers, Inc. manufactures rubber-homogenizing aids
for the tire and rubber industries. These products “compatabilize” rubber compounds, enabling rubber to be mixed more rapidly and more thoroughly with less heat history.
Soundwich, Inc. produces high hysterisis oil resistant polymers for damping automobile engines and body components. They are developing metal/ceramic composites for engine exhaust systems.
Team Wendy LLC produces a line of recreational helmets using Zorbium™, a patented viscoelastic energy-absorbing foam. Zorbium™ is also used in the Army’s new Advanced Combat Helmet and in other applications requiring energy-absorbing materials.
Allegiant Medical, LLC distributes home-fill oxygen and respiratory equipment to customers located primarily in northeast Ohio. Home fill equipment eliminates the need for vendor delivery of oxygen and provides increased mobility to patients.
Cleveland Industrial Innovation Center uses locally trained labor to renovate a large brownfield location in Cleveland focusing on the principles of sustainability to transform unused but well built property into attractive competitive commercial space.
Piketon Initiative for Nuclear Independence is working with the Department Energy to evaluate the Portsmouth Nuclear Reservation as a potential GNEP site.
Whiskey Island Marina manages a 66 acre county-owned marina and park located on Lake Erie at the
mouth of the Cuyahoga River. This unique downtown greenspace is home to festivals, concerts, a popular restaurant and bar, and a sand volleyball league. The Wendy Park Foundation, an ancillary organization, is focused on restoring the historic coast guard station and extending the Ohio Erie Towpath northward through the city to its natural terminus on the lake.
Impact Ceramics LLC, a start-up producer of light-weight composite armor for military vehicles.
Tennessee Iron Products, LLC, owns the rights to six million tons of reclaimed iron ore in Tennessee and is currently developing a blast furnace that will produce pig iron for the resurgent steel industry based on Brazilian furnace technology.
Intellectual Property Holdings, LLC is the holder of 56 internally developed patents and an incubator of new technology businesses.
Bucephalus Assurance Company is a captive insurance company dedicated to economically insuring the myriad risks undertaken by the portfolio.
Merlin Computer Services Inc. is a full service computer consulting company providing technological solutions to small businesses. Our services include computer repair, installations, networking design, configuration and maintenance.
